Integrated Coffee for Cool Story (2024)

The Brief:

To apply, please send ONE original piece of video content. The goal of this internship is to create, and so show us what you’re capable of! You CAN send a resume along with your video, but you do not have to. If you ONLY send a resume, you will not be considered.

Result:

Success! I secured the internship over 100+ other applicants. Cool Story really offered me the opportunity to experiment with content creation, both in terms of soft skills like brainstorming and storytelling and of hard skills in multi-camera set-ups and editing. You can read more about that experience here.

Attila Newey for Digitas (2025)

The Brief:

Tell us about what our fearless, inventive, and generous values mean to you and how they show up in your life. You can showcase all three or choose your personal favorite, the choice is yours! Feel free to include personal or professional stories highlighting your ability to grow and evolve or anything else that helps tell your story. Submissions should be no longer than 60 seconds or 5 slides.

Result:

Radio silence. It’s hard to put so much effort into an application and receive nothing, but this was an important learning opportunity for me. Looking back, it wasn’t my most refined work, but I made it in a rush the weekend before finals week and I’m still proud of it in that context: proud enough to put it on my website at least. I think it tells a good story while staying true to ideas that I really believe in.

I'll C U soon for UChicago (2022)

The Brief:

If you would like to add your voice to your application, you have the option to submit a two-minute video introduction in lieu of the traditional college interview, which is not part of our application process. Your recording does not need to be extensively rehearsed or polished, and the video does not need to be edited.

Result:

Success! I landed an almost full-ride Odyssey Scholarship to the University of Chicago. This was life-changing. Of course, there were many aspects that contributed to this, but I like to think my ability to tell this silly little story in my video supplement was instrumental.
